Hurricane Barry

Category 1 Hurricane Barry arrived in Louisiana today and shortly thereafter became a tropical storm. The National Weather Service New Orleans Twitter account has flood, tornado warnings along with other important weather updates.

Hurricane Wilma spared us from her Category 3 winds. Last night it was wet but not a terrible down pour. Today Wilma left a windy trail as she exited Florida and at times the gusts were strong here but it didn't last long. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors to the south as they encountered the worst of Wilma.

2) Please read the latest scam alert regarding people sending emails passing themselves off as the Red Cross. The Red Cross DOES NOT request donations via-email. They advised to type their website address (redcross.org) directly on to the browser and donate from there. One more thing, to report gas price gouging see the Sept. featured links on the side bar.
