Brick pavers projects
Recently I surprised my daughter and son-in-law with what seemed to be two simple projects. For the most part they were simple. However, the work came to a halt when a snake scared the living daylights out of me after I lifted a brick half way through the bench project. More on the snake towards the end of this post.

Research real vs fake news
Misinformation is everywhere. It is effective in several ways including occupying your time to deceive you and encourage you to spreed falsehoods aka lies.
With the amount of information that we come across on a daily basis it would be a full time job to research everything we hear. There are things that sound so believable yet are total fabrications. Do we rely on others to search for us, take someone else's word for it or do we take the time to check it out for ourselves? I suggest the latter.
In an attempt to aide you in your fact checking journey, this post provides you access to several websites that

Falling into autumn
Every year right about this time I spent time and energy looking for fall decorations stored
somewhere in the house. Normally they are in the in the attic yet last year I decided that I didn't want to deal with the attic so I stored it in the house in the main closet. Fast forward to last week.
I could not, for the life of me, remember if I had actually stored them in the closet. No big deal right. It was a matter of going in there and looking around. I did and no such luck. After that my lack of desire of going in the attic almost made me forgo falling up the place. Yet the season got the best of me so I took a deeper look in the closet. There it was, buried under things that I stored there throughout the year. Luckily nothing was to heavy for me to move. It was a little tight so maneuvering was

A heart
The perils of having more than one blog is that you either are writing to much or not at all. Something had to give.
I haven't posted here in a long time, duh. Birthdays, beach, repairs, yard work and much more has taken place since my previous post.
One of the things I have taken to is noticing more things, being present, putting the phone down.

Beach Pictures, Florida
Did I mention how much I enjoy the beach? It has been a while since I posted pix of recent beach outings, these are a few.
Chilling (more like roasting) near the lifeguards post at Honeymoon Island Beach. Dunedin, Florida.

Stillness
Stillness rules the evening. Thoughts traveling carefree, words resting from any exchange. A constant candle light flicker trances all emotions, nothing left nothing at all.
Distant mellow notes hit the air tempting sleep to take over, fighting it slightly then all is quiet. It feels like home for a moment. Alone shouldn't feel like home. Those moments turned into days, years.
Shadowless figure grace me with your absence before living ceases. Begrudge me not that one simple request. Act before the specs of light completely dwindles inside and out. Why do you delay? Could it be the same stillness is also ruling your night?

Conde de Mirasol Fort, Vieques
There is something mystical about this fort. However small, it's design, thick walls and cannons facing towards the ocean, all together transport you into the past. BTW, "Fortin" as it appears in the sign above, means small Fort.
Vieques is such a pretty place. It has beautiful beaches. The town square was being remodeled. New benches were being added along with nicely sized grayish rectangular stone pavers.
I also learned that the local hospital is named after my uncle's sister-in-law, who was a well regarded midwife on the island. We drove by the hospital on the way to the beach, the name seemed familiar. That's when I learned who she was...who knew?
Well those are a few pic of my trip to el Fortin Conde De Mirasol in Vieques.

Yes, it's Friday again, time for more pictures! The first and second photo were taken at Caladesi Island State Park, that place is beautiful. The third picture is of my favorite beach in St. John, very luscious and relaxing place.

Yes! It's Friday...looking forward to the weekend! Here a few shots of places I see or go by almost daily.
This bridge was recently remodeled. The previous one was made out of wood. I liked the wooden one better yet this one doesn't look bad at all.
Nearby shops and coffee house. Early weekends mornings most of the outside tables are filled with young couples reading the morning paper or simply conversing. I have to admit, I don't stop by there often yet a friend of mine once in a while surprises me with a treat from there. Thanks HR! (Update 2018: The Starbucks is no longer location in WestPark Village.)
One of the several views of the nearby golf course. I do not golf. I did go to the practice range once and attempted to hit a bucket of balls but ended up with a terrible back ache. My swing was off (I didn't even have a swing) it was more like a lunge!!!
There you go a piece of nearby places in my neck of the woods.
Hope your weekend starts off blissfully!

It is Friday Feb, 3, 2006. I thought you might want to see what is going on here this morning, rain and more rain. This is the view from one of the windows upstairs. Did I mention there is some lightning too?
I'll return with more pictures. Logging off before we receive a power surge which sometimes happens when the weather is like this.!

Friday and it is picture day among other things. This week the photos are from a trip taken last summer.
Meyer Anderson band at Inn of the Hills in Kerville, Texas. Last summer I ran into this band and danced my feet off. They were playing up a storm. Everything from their stage presence, instrumentation and vocals had the place jumping. We couldn't get enough! Check out their website on my Favorite Links on the sidebar or their current Facebook page for more info. Can't wait to hear them play again. Looking forward to their CD!

Ma Crosby's Restaurant and Bar in Matamoros Mexico. We (four gals) took a day trip to Mexico and ate at Ma Crosby's and were even treated to a serenade at the bar. The bar walls are covered with the history of Mexico displayed in photos and articles. The food was excellent and the Margaritas where by far the best I have ever had!
