Video Tips

At some point you or someone you know may want to make a video. Here is a simple to navigate tutorial full of great tips. Two things attracted me about their videos. One was their clear, simple and detailed tutorials. Second, there is no need to login/register to watch the tutorials! Have fun and as always remember to always video responsibly.

Updated The Forums Page

Okay, I took a trip to the Forums page. Was pleasantly surprised to learn that only one forum is no longer available while two changed their urls. New forum additions include Android, Blackberry, LG, Mobile and Music.

Forums now has it's on tab at the top of this blog while it's still located via the Informational Sidebar.

Emdedding Blackbird Pie

This is my first use of the new twitter embedding media called Blackbird Pie.

+What is Black Bird Pie?

+Why use it?
Frankly the answer is exclusively based on your preference. Screen shots is what ppl traditionally use when displaying tweets on articles. Personally I am not a fan of screen shots. However (unlike applications which evolve requiring one to back track/update) screen shots, for the most part, are permanent.

+What does an embedded tweet look like?

+How do you use Blackbird Pie?
Visit http://media.twitter.com/blackbird-pie/
Once there, paste the tweet you want converted. Bake it. You will see the complete code. Copy, paste and add to your site via HTML editing. Don't feel intimidated by the code. It is a simple copy and paste. If you feel the need to change the code up a bit, it also loans itself for that too!

+How do I copy a tweet in the first place?
Click the date/time stamp on the lower portion of the tweet. After that page is open, stay on that page, scroll to url listed on your browser, copy that url.

There you have it. Don't knock it until you try it, then decide.

Nixzmary Brown 4th Anniversary

Instead of writing about Nixzmary yesterday Jan 11, 2010, on the 4th anniversary of her passing, I decided to read more about her life. After reading about her tragic life, I paused and wondered if I was better off not knowing. "Pain is pain" I thought to myself. However, I continued reading because she continued to endure a nightmare everyday. What's a few words compared to the constant terror she experienced? To say that I was at a loss for words is an understatement. When I saw the pictures of the room in which she met with her death, it was overwhelming. It was so haunting.

There is just no amount of justification for how everyone pretty much let her down her whole life. I've seen people go out of their way for an animal yet not out of their way enough for her when she was alive and sadly not well. My answers are not as crucial to answer as much as the answers of all the people in her life. People that I hope every single day of their lives deep down inside ask themselves, "Why did I hesitate?" Are they at peace with themselves? I doubt it. However, she is now resting in peace.

When I joined twitter I felt a bit lost until I took the time to check out some apps. I can only imagine if you are navigating the world of twitter apps and are not sure which ones suit your needs the best. For the most part I have to say it is trial an error. One app might look and sound great however until you use it, you just don't know.

Despite twitter itself having gone through some changes since it's inception, the apps and clients themselves have blown up to suit the various OS, Mobile Devices, etc. I for one can not name them all. Some have gone, some have become major players.

Disclaimer: Before proceeding any further, I'd like to add that I am not paid/compensated in any way for listing any app, article or info regarding any twitter client on this site or anywhere else for that matter.

After watching the twitter stream at different times of the day on different days, these were the top clients being used to tweet. (In random order)

I for one, prefer Tweet via mobile which depending on your provider and your plan will dictate which twitter app will work on your device. One thing I need to also emphasize is that word of mouth is your best way to see what has worked for others. Ask around, do your homework because not all apps are created equal. Yes they all feed into twitter. However the timing, ease and where-else you can send your tweets vary from client to client.

Sports Tweets

What is being said sports wise live? It dawned upon me that not everyone I know is on Twitter. Having a shared interest in sports with many people I wanted to add a live sports feed for their enjoyment. I've had Sports Portal/Links (also located on the sidebar) for a while so this new Sports Tweets via http://twitter.com/AbbyCe/all-about-sportsmakes a nice addition.
